Hi mamas 💛
It’s been a minute since I’ve posted — okay, more like many minutes. But if you’re a mom, you get it. Life with two little boys has been beautiful madness. Between stepping on toys, constant snack negotiations, and chasing toddlers who somehow have more energy than the sun, finding even a second to myself (let alone to write) has felt nearly impossible.
But I’ve missed this space. And more importantly, I’ve missed connecting with other mamas.
So today I’m showing up, messy bun, half-drunk (now cold) coffee and all, to talk about something I’m finally giving myself permission to ask for again:
30 minutes just for me.
Why 30 Minutes Matters (Even if It Feels Selfish)
Let’s be honest — motherhood doesn’t come with breaks. But that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve them. Taking 30 minutes to ourselves isn’t selfish. It’s survival. It’s sanity. It’s being human.
Even small rituals—like locking the bathroom door and breathing in peace (even if someone is knocking two seconds later)—help recharge us. And over time, those small moments add up.
My Go-To Ways to Reset in 30 Minutes (or Less)
Here are a few things I’ve been turning to lately that help me feel more grounded, less frazzled, and a tiny bit more like me again:
1. Aromatherapy in a bottle
A calming essential oil roll-on is my new best friend. I keep it in my bag or by my bed and just swipe a little on my wrists or temples when I need to breathe through the chaos. This one is subtle, natural, and doesn’t give off that overpowering spa scent.
2. Mini spa moments
The bath may be the only place I’m not getting screamed at, so I make the most of it with lavender bath salts or a relaxation gift set. It sounds fancy, but trust me—10 quiet minutes with warm water and good scents? Game changer.

3. Stress-relief drink mixes
Some nights, when I finally sit down, I’ll make myself a warm mug of one of those calm drink mixes. It feels indulgent and actually helps me wind down, even if the kids are still bouncing off walls.

4. At-home massage tools
Let’s talk tight shoulders and mom posture. I’ve been using a mini handheld massage gun for just five minutes a day, and it’s wild how much tension it releases.

A Reminder You Might Need Today
You’re not “just a mom.” You are the center of your family’s universe. But you’re also a woman who deserves care, stillness, and the occasional uninterrupted bath.
So if today feels like too much, give yourself 30 minutes. Or 10. Or 2. Just something. You’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to breathe. You’re allowed to be a little selfish with your time. Because when you’re full, you give from overflow — not emptiness.
If this post resonated with you, share it with a fellow mom who needs the reminder. And stay tuned — I’m back to writing daily again. I’ve got a lot more to say (and recommend), now that I’ve finally reclaimed my voice — and my 30 minutes ✨
With love,
Emily.
